Preparing for Easter

I have signed up for an Easter Chick ATC swap and it got me on a roll. I have created this for the ATC's and on a larger scale for Easter Cards and Postcards.
I can't tell which I like better, the more natural or the vibrant colors. Either way I am please with how they turned out.
Leave comments and suggestions PLEASE!

IF ~ Poise

Ahhh The poise of an ethnic dancer!

I was working on a print for a lady that I am doing a swap with, she mentioned liking ethnic art and what great timing... this weeks theme for Illustration Friday (IF) is poise. This is the first of it's kind for me but I like the way it turned out.
Watercolor and ink!! (inspired by Karen Bates Ethnic painter)

Color test

I am creating a line of note cards for a Tea Themed swap and here is what I have come up with. I also tried a color test to see just what I wanted to do. A dear friend suggested Spot coloring and so that is what I tried....

I think I like it. I will post the final product when they are all complete.
Any comments or suggestions are greatly welcome.

For the love of postcards

I just love creating postcards thus sign up for many postcard swaps on Swap-bot. Here is my latest creation for a "Flower seed package postcard" swap. I had so much fun with this one.

I did this in watercolor and micronpen!
I am going to plant Elephant Ears on my property this year to take up some dead space. I can't wait to see how big they really get.
I hope my partner likes this one.
I need to work on background colors, blending, mingling, etc. Maybe I will find a watercolor class this summer to help more with that!! Hint Hint LAF...

Intricate ~ Illustration Friday

This weeks topic for Illustration Friday is Intricate. I thought since we were starting our Science Nature Notebooks this week I could use this for my entry.

I am teaching the children the pro's and con's of a bee's life and the parts of a bee's anatomy in intricate detail.

Mexican wall art

I went to a Mexican restaurant with some friends and this was on the wall over the table where we were seated. I love to keep my hands busy while we chat (they are used to this by now) and this is what I drew!

My colors came out a little bold but I am still trying to find a medium I am good at. It was a fun piece though.

Mini Postcard #2

Here is the second of the mini postcards I had to make for a swap. This partner likes the beach and cats and dogs. Since cats don't hang out at the beach much I added a doggie for her pleasure.

Yup another swap.. this stuff is addicting.!

Anyway. This one is for Mini Postcards (3.5X5") and one of my partners likes Teddy Bears and Gardening so I hope she will enjoy this postcard. We were able to hand make them or store buy them. Of course I choose to make it handmade.

Mail Art

I signed up for a Mail Art swap and for this we have to design/decorate two envelopes and note cards. I was so excited about the warm weather we had been having so I started doodling spring time sketches. Here is the first envi I completed... I am happy with it., (of course I blocked out my address.)

This is the front and the back.

The next one is a little more detailed but I will not be using such bright colors. I am trying two different techniques. Of course learning as I go...

So whatcha think?
