Shrinky dink mania

I started playing with shrinky dinks again trying to make embellishments for atc's and gift tags for the holidays. Here is one I made of a dragon for a lady I was doing a swap with. I just loved the movie Tilly's Dragon and this lil guy is from that movie. Hope she likes it. I made the little Christmas ornament for him cause that is what he is for her. heheh I tied a satin blue ribbon at the top once he was shrunk and then I added the hook for her to place him on her Christmas tree.

A work in progress.

UPDATE!! Here is the completed project. I didn't do to well on the face but I am pleased with the rest. What do you think???

I am really trying hard to make some postcards that I am happy with. I have joined a swap for Handmade postcards and have three wonderful partners. Here is one that I am working on to be mailed out on Monday....

This is just the first sketches and I am praying that I will be able to watercolor it without ruining it something terrible.

I will be sure to post the final project when I am finished.

Wishing you all a blessed Sunday.

Rejoice in the Lord always.

I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My family and I enjoyed our day and now I am on the computer to play. I have been busy with more swaps and just wanted to share the latest.
These first two are for the Beginner Christmas ATC swap. The first is an ATC inside a sled ornament. The second, an ATC with a Christmas charm on it.

This is a cat peaking through a hole in the newspaper. Watching out for his new home. This was made for the "Handmade postcard swap"

This lil guy was made for an Autumn ATC swap . I was pleased with the coloring of this one.

This last one is a Recipe postcard swap for Cowgirl stew. Yeah many of you guys out there say it is cowBOY stew but I added a women's touch and now it taste better then ever. HEEHEE

Two new postcards off to their new homes

These are two postcards I created for a swap with a creature theme. There had to be one thing on there that started with the Letter G. I really like the goldfish card and am not REAL happy with the Goose but I worked it to death and thought I had better send it on before I totally ruin it. I hope the recipients will be happy with them.

4 day swap ~ postcards

I signed up for a postcards swap that only allowed four days to produce them. Since I wasn't really well yesterday and stayed in the bed I was able to work on all of them and get them pretty much done. I just thought I would share them with you...

the second one is the only one not finished. I think I am going to watercolor that one too. The first is marker and colored pencil, the dog and cat are watercolored, the cat is marker. I try to make them to the persons liking that will be receiving them I am just not real good at some of it. I like to make whimsical things and some realistic.
So here they are.. whattcha think?

Brown Bag ATC

I signed up for another ATC swap and it required me to make an ATC with some sort of Brown paper bag on it. Well, I thought and thought about what to do, I tried to make a small 'thing' that would resemble a paper bag and this is what I came up with...

I drew the paper bag and used scrapbook die cuts to fill the bag, so there is some sort of 3D effect.

Then this is what I received from my Partner 'Tuesday'... Now she did exactly what I was trying to do and made an actual paper bag, you can even open it. Way Cool!

Then to top it off she sent a second ATC.... she made this sweet little dress from a brown paper bag. Thanks Tuesday, I love them both. And thanks for the mouse card too!

Whew time to catch up!!

I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted here. I have been busy with all kinds of creations. I have taken part in many swaps including ATC's, postcards, handcrafted items like crocheting, sewing and all sorts of fun things. Here are a few ATC's I have sent out...

The first is one is my friend Polly (I have always wanted a bird like this, the second one was a doodle and I liked the way it turned out so I colored it on an ATC. The third was for a Butterfly swap. I love butterflies. The fourth was just for fun. I wanted to see how well my watercolor technique was on an ATC. The fifth one I did in honor of my mother was loved birdhouses. The last one came to mind when I was reading a book about watching dolphins.

There are four postcards I did. I had to send one out of my favorite animal. The swap was for purchased postcards or handmade postcards. I decided to draw mine and used colored pencil and marker.

I had a lot of fun with those! As you can tell... it's the mice I love. :-) There are so many pieces that got sent out that I didn't get pictures of but there will be more that I do and I will get pictures of those!

I hope you all are having a wonderful Autumn so far and enjoying times of being artistic., it sure is fun!

Tuesday Prompt #2

Today Tuesday Sept 2nd 2008 Elasah's prompt is to "look under your couch, grab the first thing you find and get inspired. You can write about it, draw it, photograph it, imagine it, whatever as long as you have fun"

Well I was almost affraid to put my hand under there and pull out whatever it is that was there, but I pulled up the courage and did and this is what I found....

You can click on the image to get a better look. What's under YOUR couch?

Tuesday Prompts

I am joining Heather over at Elasah for her Tuesday Prompts and she posted the first one on Aug 26th. Well I have finally gotten around to finishing mine and scanning it in. So here it is my first TP entry....

You can click on the image to get a better look.

The first prompt was to 'go into the next room and look at the tallest thing there, what is under it?'

So I drew our Antique mirror and the cat and two of it's toys. Now I know you wouldn't have been able to see those precious lil dust bunnies unless I drew them with a little charater so I added a few of them as well. They are always there. Dust bunnies everywhere!! heheh

I will post Tomorrow's Tuesday Prompt tomorrow so be sure to check back!! Until then....
