WOW it's been awhile

Sorry for neglecting you for so long. I have been busy with art, trying new things, coming up with larger projects and loving every minute of it!

Sunbonnet Sue and Friends

I created these for a swap over at ATCSFORALL. Bringing back lil Sunbonnet Sue. I enjoyed doing these and can't wait to see what others do. This swap isn't due until April so it will be awhile before I see what my partners did. I hope I can stand the wait!

Graphite and Charcoal ATC's

These are graphite and charcoal drawings I did for another swap. This was more of a challenge for me because I haven't drawn in charcoal, especially this small. (2.5 x 3.5)I was not used to the smudging and not being able to hide boo boo's with color! Thank you for the Challenge!

The coffee buy the cup just didn't seem to be enough., sooooo. I took the plunge. Ahh I am starting to wake up now!

A couple weeks ago Illustration Friday had the challenge theme Chicken. I didn't make this in time to enter it on their blog but wanted to share it anyway. I drew it in my day planner one day when I had a few extra minutes on my hands (which seems to be a lot lately) Oh well, I had fun!

Under the Sea

I am beginning to see that Realistic people are not my thing but here are a few mermaids and such that I did for a swap theme of Under the Sea. I will continue to practice people but in the meantime I think my 'guys and gals' will be animated!

In honor of Rubber Ducky's birthday (from Sesame Stree) I drew this in my day planner and just wanted to share it!

Frida Kohal

Here was a challenge from willowing.ning. We had to draw Frida Kohal in our own way. Now mind you she is an artist from way back when and mostly did self portraits. She emphazised her unibrow and always seemed so sad in her paintings. Well when I began to doodle I thought maybe she was so sad because of her unibrow and maybe she had a huge GAP in her teeth as well. Sooo that inspired the big mouth drawing. The other is just a bit of a animated drawing of her! It was fun to do! I can't wait to see what other's have done.

Teddi card

Here is a note card I drew for a swap. My partners name was Teddi and so I drew a Teddy bear and a mouse for myself. This is just the black and white copy, I didn't get a picture of the finished card tho! This will still give you an idea!

Carousel Horse

Here is personal swap I did. My partner asked that I make her a Carousel Horse ATC. I hope she enjoys it! I had a lot of fun adding the background as much as I did drawing the horse itself! I have been working on getting more creative with the backgrounds on the ATC's to make them more 'active;.

bamboo atc's

I joined a swap at atcsforall and the theme was "Bamboo". I can't imagine bamboo without panda bears so I decided to include one on a few of the cards. I really had a lot of fun with this as I have never drawn Bamboo before!

Christmas Card 2010

This is the face of the Christmas Card that I send out for 2010. It was a lot of fun to create as my family and I took a picture by our tree in the same positions. (sorry it is sideways!)
