Feb Postcard

I am in a 'February Postcard' swap and this is the front of the postcard I created. I thought February would be a month that folks get more mail beings Valentine's Day falls in this month so I chose to do a Holly Hobbie figure at her mailbox searching for her treasures.

I was just going to leave it in black ink because I tea dye'd the paper but then I felt like using watercolor. I think I need a new thin tip brush, I am not really happy with the post vine but didn't want to push things and really mess it up.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful February and I pray that March is even better.

IF ~ Instinct

This weeks theme for Illustration Friday (IF) is Instint. I drew this card to send to my Aunt and thought it would fit nicely.
It is truly his instinct to Pray for Spring!!

Please join me

I am hosting another swap over at http://www.swap-bot-com/. Check it out here.

Draw, paint, or ink a postcard of your favorite flower seed package. Please do not cut the face off a package and glue it to a postcard. Let this be your original art work. Remember the standard size postcard is 6 X 4.5 so please nothing smaller. You may make them as large as 5 X 7 but please no larger.
Add something on the back telling why it is your favorite flower and a little about you.
I am giving this a month so that you can take your time and make it special. You can also look at your partners profile and pick out something they like to add to the postcard too. Say, your partner likes MICE (hint hint) you can put a mouse on the front of the postcard smelling your favorite flower. heehee like how I threw that in there. Anyway, the main thing is to have fun.

Here is a sample of what I mean....

Whimsical Snails

Slow as a snail, I might be, but check out what I have createeeedddd...

This one is in watercolor and I used the kitchen theme because my swap partner loves to cook and read cookbooks.

This one I made with her son in mind. He is only one but will soon be curious about different textures. There is a crocheted shell and a fabric body with foam grass and vinyl paper backing. I hope they will enjoy them.

UPDATED**

Here are the items I received for this swap.... The green atc really looks like snail slime heheeh and I love the butterfly wings on the snail in the other atc. Thank you to my partner., these are great!

Nursery Rhymes of my Childhood

Here are a few ATC's that I have done for a Nursery Rhyme swap. The first.... Hickory Dickory Dock. Now you all know I LOVVVEEEE Mice and I remember my parents Grandfather Clock chimming at midnight so I combined the two and came up with this ....

Then there were the times when I would sing "the Ants go marching one by one..." with the children as we walked through the park or as they cleaned up their toys so I did this....
I still need practice sketching so small but I am happy with the way they turned out. I hope the partners that receive them are happy with them too.

Another Dragon

Remember this dragon... That I posted Dec 20th?.. Well it never made it to it's owner and is lost out there in postal land. So I created this dragon... as a suncatcher to take his place. I do hope that this lil guy will make it to his new mommy. It is for a Swap at swap-bot. He will be traveling all the way to England.
Safe travels lil man!! Let me know when you get there.

ATC Dolls

Now I sent a set of these out awhile ago and they were never received. So I had the pleasure of making them again. I have to admit the first ones didn't look that great, cause I had never made any before. Soooo I am happier with these anyway. Now I just PRAY they get to where they are going...
Holly Hobbies legs move

and so do Mr Tumnus'.
Happy Traveling my friends.

Perfect timing Penguins

Well as the snow falls outside my window I sit here working on a few ATC's. I was signed up for a Penguin ATC swap and here is what I sent out....

I took a realistic approach on this one.

This one I called Act III with a bit of a modern zing. Their beaks are purple, green and pink and they have feet to match.

I had so much fun making the atc's that I decided to make a penguin card to send them off in. Here are those...
I sent Act III in this one. and the realistic one in here...

I hope the recipients will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
